They may contain other, non-conductive materials like plastic. The conductive material within a capacitive stylus means you can use it on a capacitive touchscreen. As you may know, capacitive touchscreens identify touch commands by measuring capacitance. You must use an electrically conductive object. Haadi Unfortunately those touchscreens are not really designed for writing.
So when writing with a stylus, there may be broken lines. But if you really want to try writing with a stylus, you can go with the rubber tip or disc tip stylus. Just purchased a brand new HP envy 13 aq-1xxx We have tried two different "universal" digital pens. Neither works. We see now that the model is not listed on the compatibility sheet. Even if stylus can work, it's just for tapping on screen, not for writing or drawing which likely will create broken lines.
Trying to find out the information before purchasing was impossible and the sales assistant said it should work with the HP pen given it is a HP touch screen. After I have purchased it, I found out this was not correct. HP really need to be more transparent about their products and compatibility.
