Active Holidays. However, there is one bad day to report. We had left 'the best til last' for the kids - or so we thought. Our trip to Garda land started to go awry when we encountered the gridlock on approaches to the site.

Traffic was even backing up nto the mearby morway as the exit was clogged up. Having spent an hour negotiating that and a further half hour queueing to park in what looked like overspill carpark number three we finally entered Gardaland cheerfully, despite parting with around Euros for two falmilies.

Even rides for younger children had huge queues and there was much evidence of fretful parents and agitated children. Queues for food were about as bad, and as we walked from ride to ride to see if there was anything worth queuing for it was clear from the glum faces that not many people were actually having a good time.

It is a shame really, as the Park itself looks the part and looked like has some decent rides - or we think it has as we only got to look at most of them from a distance. Basically, greed seems to have taken over from providing a good visitor experience. Far too many people and a total waste of a day's holiday, never mind the cash.

We hung on until 8. A waste of money all round, and a real dampner to what had otherwise been a great holiday. If you do decide to go to Gardaland I can only suggest trying a wet Wednesday in February if it is open, otherwise stay by the lake or even poke yourself in the eye for more fun. If your taking special needs children, I wouldn't recommend this place in any way.

Me and my friends who have learning disabilities weren't allowed to go on the fast rides due to our condition, In my opinion it was a load a rubbish we're all suitable to rides these rollercoaster. We had to wait in the queue. For anyone looking to go to a theme park in Italy Gardaland isn't the answer. The food was decent.

MariaR Frimley, UK 12 contributions. Shameful discrimination from Merlin! Never before have I experienced such blatant discrimination from such a organisation as Merlin Gardaland's owners. I have just returned from a trip with a bunch of fabulous students who all have special needs but are able bodied. There was continual refusal of our students going on rides, and when questioned some of answers received from Gardaland staff Not sure how those people react Ruin others' experiences at the park.

Disgraceful promotion of non equality! DilaraB26 Guildford, UK 1 contribution. I go to a sixth form for students with learning difficulties and I am not happy with you. I was so upset and really disappointed It's not very fair on customers we couldn't go on any of the ride it was disgraceful theme park ever it was a waste of time just because I go to a special school doesn't mean I cant go on rides I was so annoyed and angry I couldn't have fun all day what rude members of staff and their ridiculous rules at Gardaland.

I went on the sequoia ride the one that goes upside down it was scary and nasty one of the member of staff said to me I am not strapping you in your gonna fall out even if it a joke it a nasty joke VERY MEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should be more widely known outside of Italy.

This theme park is excellent. We went on a very hot day 36 degrees and headed straight for one of the numerous water rides. When we got there the queue was about 30 minutes - not nice in that heat - but the lovely people at gardaland have installed cold water sprays on all of their queue lines and at various places around the park - you almost wanted to stay in the queue longer. The rides are outstanding - the Blue Tornado beats anything at Alton Towers.

The water rides are numerous and all well designed. The site itself it modelled quite closely on Disney - characters and magic are on every corner. There are lots of restaurants and cafes around the large site and the food is of a suprisingly good quality for a theme park We visited the Dolphin show - book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment, but there are lots of other shows and events on throughout the day. I have been a life long fan of Disney and never thought they would have a rival in the theme park world, but Gardaland is nothing short of brilliant.

They even have a Gardaland hotel so you can extended your stay. One day in the park is definately not enough. I have just visited Gardaland with my friends from our school. We all attend a special school for young adults with learning disabilities. When we arrived at the park we were judged by our appearance and sent to a different entrance. This made us feel singled out! Once we got to the rides we were not allowed to go on the rides even though we were more than capable of deciding for ourselves whether or not we could cope.

We were only allowed to go on rides if we looked 'normal', those of us who look different were discriminated against and made to feel that we were not as worthy as the rest of the visitors. We were not even allowed to enter the 4D cinema unless accompanied by a member of staff with two students. I would not recommend this park at all especially to anyone who have any type of special need. Worst Customer Service Experience! I visited Gardaland park with my girlfriend and the rest of the wedding party we were travelling with.

We asked at the information desk if there were any lockers to store our belongings and we were directed to the raptor attraction where the lockers were located. We returned to our locker after a few hours and the locker would not open with the pin code given and so we had to get a security guard to come and open the locker for us, a few other groups where waiting with the same issue.

After getting the things we needed we returned our bags to a different locker and got a new pin in-case the one we used was faulty and went and got food and spent more time on the rides.

As we approached the lockers a few hours later we noticed that two of the bags we had in the lockers where thrown on top of the lockers and no sign of the third. We obviously started to panic as the third bag had our Phones, money etc, but thought that maybe the third bag was still inside the locker and tried to get access but the code would not work like it had in the morning.

We asked for security to come as quick as they could as we suspected that out bag had been stolen. We had to ask for security a further two times before they finally arrived after 45 minutes of waiting. When they arrived they opened the locker and it was empty. We were then advised to go to the information desk. We explained the situation to the man and were told to fill in a form, we had to give a detailed description of the bag and while doing so the man at the desk produced the bag in question.

When we explained the situation to the man at the desk, he stated that sometimes the lockers open as they are automated and this sometimes happens, at this point we asked why there are no signs to say this at the lockers and he said he didn't know.
