Students should be motivated to participate and have an established practice routine to do their best. Although it is not required for students to have a private teacher to participate, it is not uncommon for this to be a consideration. It is recommended that students dress nice, but comfortable for the performance. Additional Information. Students will have a week to upload their performances which will include four tasks: Task 1 - Student will complete field prompts for general registration and upload a scanned copy of their solo or ensemble score Task 2 - Scales Task 3 - Solo improvisation included for jazz Task 4 - Sight reading Why should students perform at NYSSMA?
